PhD in Climate Change and Sustainable Development Policies
The PhD program on Climate Change and Sustainable Development is a joint initiative from the Universidade de Lisboa, the Universidade Técnica de Lisboa, the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and has the support of the University of East Anglia, UK. The schools from Universidade Técnica de Lisboa involved in this programme are the Instituto Superior Técnico and the Instituto Superior de Agronomia. The program focus is the engineering domain with strong links to economics, law, policy and ethics.

History
The tirth edition of the PhD program on Climate Change and Sustainable Development will start on 2011/2012 and will be held at the Technical Superior Institut (IST) of the technical University of Lisbon (UTL).
Objectives
The aim of the program is to train experts who will be able to actively contribute to the design and implementation of new strategies and policies which may ensure a sustained development during the XXI century in the framework of growing risks arising from climate change.
Designed For
- Holders of a Master Degree, or equivalent, in social sciences, physics, natural sciences and engineering;
- Exceptionally, holders of a “Licenciatura” Degree, or equivalent, with a relevant academic, scientific and professional curriculum which attests the candidate ability to complete the program;
